Pick your kind of day

Every trip is private — your group and your captain, nobody else. Half day or full day, open water or hard water. Tell Jamison what you want to catch and he builds the day around it.

Half day or full day

Open Water Fishing

The bread and butter. Four or eight hours chasing whatever you came for on the St. Croix or the Mississippi, with everything supplied and a captain who has spent thirty years learning where fish sit when the water changes.

Walleye and smallmouth are the usual targets, but crappie and catfish are on the table too. Tell Jamison what you want and he builds the day around it.

The trophy trip

Sturgeon

Prehistoric, armored, and strong enough to tow the boat around for a while. The St. Croix holds a genuinely healthy sturgeon population, and hooking one is the single best fight available on this water.

This is a heavier, more patient style of fishing than a walleye trip — bigger rods, bait on the bottom, and a lot of watching rod tips. When one goes, nobody on the boat forgets it.

Worth knowing

  • Every sturgeon goes back in the water, no exceptions
  • Best windows are April to June and September to November
  • Also runs through the ice once the river locks up

Catch and release only. Sturgeon are handled in the water wherever possible and released immediately.

Ice Fishing & Electronics Coaching

Winter trips work differently. Rather than putting you on his boat, Jamison comes to you — and the day is as much about teaching as it is about catching.

He brings the tackle and bait he thinks the day calls for. You bring your own gear and your electronics, and he shows you how to actually use them: reading your unit, running LiveScope, and working out how your lake sets up. Most people leave able to do it themselves next time.

Sober Captain

Have your own boat and a group aboard? Jamison will run it for the day so everyone can enjoy the river and nobody has to wonder who is driving.

A licensed Master Captain at your helm means the person operating the boat is trained, sober and paying attention to traffic, weather and the channel — while you and your guests get to actually be guests.

  • Pack it in, pack it out — leave a spot better than we found it
