This policy explains what information River Runner Guide Service collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We keep this simple on purpose: we are a small guide service, we collect only what we need to run a trip, and we do not sell your information.
River Runner Guide Service is a guided fishing and river charter business owned and operated by Jamison Johnson, serving the St. Croix River and the Mississippi River in Minnesota and Wisconsin. In this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” refer to River Runner Guide Service.
This policy applies to riverrunnerguideservice.com and to the ways we communicate with customers and prospective customers by phone, email and text message.
We collect only what we need in order to answer your question, book your trip and get you on the water.
Like most websites, ours may automatically record basic technical information when you visit, such as your general location, browser type, device type, the pages you viewed and the site that referred you. This is used to understand how the site is performing, not to identify you personally.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, or financial account numbers through this website. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
We use the information described above to:
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it to anyone.
If you provide your mobile number to us, we may contact you by text message about your trip. This section explains how that works and, importantly, what we do and do not do with your mobile number.
No mobile information will be sold, rented or shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf, such as customer service or messaging platform providers, is permitted solely so that they can help us operate our messaging program.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messages you asked to receive.
You give consent to receive text messages from us when you provide your mobile number to us directly — for example when you call or email to ask about a trip, when you book a date, or by submitting a form on this website that includes a clearly worded consent checkbox. Consent to receive marketing text messages is never a condition of booking a trip or purchasing anything from us.
Message frequency varies. Most customers receive only a handful of messages related to a booked trip. If you have opted in to promotional messages, you can expect no more than a few messages per month.
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. We will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and after that you will not receive further texts from us. To rejoin, sign up again the same way you did originally.
Reply HELP to any message from us for assistance, or reach us at (612) 219-6165 or [email protected].
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery depends on your carrier's network and on factors outside our control.
Our full messaging terms are set out in our Terms of Service.

Most browsers let you refuse cookies or alert you when one is being set. If you turn cookies off, parts of the site may not work as intended. You can usually manage this in your browser's privacy or security settings.
We keep customer information for as long as needed to run our business and meet legal, tax and accounting requirements. If you ask us to delete your information and we are not required to keep it, we will.
If you opt out of text messages, we keep a record of that opt-out so that we can honor it.
You can, at any time:
To make any of these requests, contact us at (612) 219-6165 or [email protected]. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under state privacy laws. We honor those rights where they apply.
Children are welcome on our trips, and we love getting young anglers on their first fish. However, this website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13.
Bookings involving minors are made by a parent or guardian, who provides any information we need. If you believe a child has provided us information directly, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information we hold, and we work with reputable platform providers who maintain their own security practices.
That said, no method of transmitting or storing information is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and we encourage you not to send sensitive information such as payment card numbers by email or text.
Our website may link to other websites, such as a booking platform, a mapping service or a state agency page for fishing regulations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. If we make a significant change to how we handle your information, we will take reasonable steps to let you know.
Continuing to use our website or services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
