These terms cover the use of riverrunnerguideservice.com and the guided trips and charters we
run. Booking a trip with us, or using this website, means you agree to them. Please read
section 5 on safety and assumption of risk closely — fishing and boating carry
real risk.

Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and River Runner Guide Service,
owned and operated by Jamison Johnson. They apply when you use riverrunnerguideservice.com, when you contact
us, and when you book or take part in a trip.
If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the website or book a
trip. If you book on behalf of a group, you confirm that you have the authority to
accept these terms for everyone in it, and you are responsible for making sure they
are aware of them.
You must be at least 18 years old to book a trip. Guests under 18 are welcome
when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

What we provide
We provide private guided fishing trips, river cruises, seasonal
tours and related services on the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers, along with
nuisance wildlife assistance. Trips are run by a U.S. Coast Guard licensed Master
Captain.
Unless stated otherwise for a particular trip, guided fishing trips aboard our
boat include rods, reels, tackle, live bait where it applies, and a cooler with ice.
Some services — including on-ice instruction — are structured differently,
and what is included will be confirmed with you before your trip.
Fishing is fishing. We will put in the work to find fish and
give you the best shot at what you came for, but we cannot and do not guarantee that
you will catch anything, or catch a particular species or size.

Booking and payment
Trips are by appointment. A date is not held until it has been
confirmed by us.
- A deposit may be required to hold your date. Any deposit amount and due date
will be confirmed with you at the time of booking.
- The remaining balance is due as agreed at booking.
- Prices, group sizes and trip lengths are confirmed at the time of booking.
- Additional guests beyond the base group size may be subject to an added charge,
confirmed before your trip.
Gratuity for your captain is not included and is always appreciated but never
expected.

Cancellations, weather and rescheduling
If you cancel
We ask for as much notice as you can give. Cancellation and refund terms,
including any notice period, are confirmed with you at the time of booking. Because
a booked date means turning away other customers, late cancellations and no-shows
may forfeit a deposit.
If we cancel
Your captain has sole discretion to delay, shorten or cancel a trip for safety
reasons — including storms, lightning, high or low water, ice conditions,
wind, mechanical trouble or anything else that makes running the trip unsafe. This
judgment is not negotiable and is made in the interest of everyone aboard.
If we cancel before the trip starts, you may reschedule or receive a refund of
amounts paid. If a trip is cut short after it begins for reasons of safety, we will
work with you on a fair partial credit or refund based on the time on the water.
Rain alone is generally not a reason to cancel. Dress for it — fish often
bite well in it.

Safety, risk and your responsibilities
Boating and fishing involve inherent risks that
cannot be eliminated, including drowning, slips and falls, collision, injury from
hooks, knives, propellers and other equipment, exposure to weather and sun, cold
water, thin or unstable ice, and encounters with wildlife.
By booking and taking part in a trip, you acknowledge these risks and accept them
for yourself and for anyone in your party for whom you are responsible.
You agree that you and your guests will:
- Follow all instructions from the captain at all times, without argument, in
matters of safety
- Wear a personal flotation device when directed to do so
- Tell us before the trip about any medical condition, mobility limitation,
allergy or non-swimmer in your party that could affect safety
- Supervise your own children at all times aboard the vessel and on the ice
- Not board the vessel while impaired to the point that it presents a risk
The captain may end a trip at any time, without refund, if a guest's conduct
creates a danger to themselves, to others or to the vessel.

Licenses and fishing regulations
Every angler is responsible for holding a valid Minnesota or
Wisconsin fishing license, as appropriate for the water being fished. A
license is not included in the price of your trip. We will tell you which one you
need for your date, but obtaining it is up to you.
All state and federal fishing regulations apply, including seasons, limits and
size restrictions. In addition:
- All sturgeon are released, without exception
- Walleye over 23 inches are released
- We follow catch and release practices wherever conservation calls for it
We will not knowingly assist any guest in violating a fishing regulation, and a
trip may be ended if a guest insists on doing so.

Conduct aboard
We want everyone to have a good day out there. To keep it that way:
- Alcohol is permitted in moderation on trips where it is allowed. Guests must
remain in control of themselves at all times.
- No glass containers aboard any vessel.
- No illegal substances aboard.
- Please use non-spray sunscreen, which is easier on the boat's surfaces.
- Pack out what you bring in. Nothing goes in the river.
- Treat the boat, the equipment and the water with respect.
You are responsible for any damage to the vessel or equipment caused by you or a
member of your party beyond ordinary wear and tear.

Text messages and SMS terms
These terms apply to the text messaging program operated by River Runner Guide Service. By
providing your mobile number to us, you agree to this section.
How you opt in
You give consent to receive text messages from us when you provide your mobile
number to us directly — for example when you call or email to ask about a
trip, when you book a date, or by submitting a form on this website that includes a
clearly worded consent checkbox. Consent to receive marketing text messages is never
a condition of booking a trip or purchasing anything from us.
What we send
- Booking confirmations, deposit and payment reminders
- Trip details such as meeting location, launch time and what to bring
- Weather, water condition and schedule change notices
- Follow-up messages after your trip
- Occasional openings, seasonal availability and promotional offers, where you
have separately agreed to receive them
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Most customers receive only a handful of messages
related to a booked trip. If you have opted in to promotional messages, you can
expect no more than a few messages per month.
Cost
Message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for text
messages, but your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
How to stop messages
You can cancel at any time by replying STOP to any message from
us. We will send one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and
after that you will not receive further texts from us. To rejoin, sign up again the
same way you did originally.

Delivery and carriers
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message delivery
depends on your carrier's network and on factors outside our control.
No mobile information will be sold, rented or shared with third
parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information
sharing with subcontractors who provide support services on our behalf, such as
customer service or messaging platform providers, is permitted solely so that
they can help us operate our messaging program.
Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are never shared
with any third party for any purpose other than delivering the messages
you asked to receive.

Website content and intellectual property
The content on this website — text, photographs, graphics, our
logo and our name — belongs to River Runner Guide Service or is used with permission. You may view and
share it for personal, non-commercial purposes.
You may not copy, republish, sell or use our content or branding for commercial
purposes without our written permission.
Photographs taken during trips may be used in our marketing. If you would prefer
that photos of you or your party not be used, tell your captain and we will respect
that.

Disclaimers
The website and its content are provided “as is.” While
we work to keep information accurate and current, we make no warranty that the site
will be error-free, uninterrupted, or that any information on it — including
seasonal timing, regulations or conditions — is complete or up to date.
Fishing regulations change; always confirm current rules with the Minnesota DNR or
Wisconsin DNR.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or
implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a
particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by Minnesota law, River Runner Guide Service, its owner, employees
and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or
punitive damages, or for lost profits, arising out of your use of this website or
your participation in a trip.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you is limited to the
amount you paid us for the trip in question.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for gross negligence, willful misconduct,
or anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless River Runner Guide Service, its owner, employees and
agents from any claim, loss, liability or expense, including reasonable attorney
fees, arising out of your breach of these terms, your violation of any law or
regulation, or the conduct of you or any member of your party during a trip.

Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without
regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from a
trip will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota, and you consent to
the jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at
the top of this page shows when they last changed. Using the website or booking a
trip after an update means you accept the revised terms.
The terms in effect on the date you book are the ones that apply to that
trip.
